The story unfolds despite being adjacent to one another, Chidori Public High School and all-girl’s Kikyo Private Academy seem to exist in two different worlds. While the latter boasts an immaculate reputation and favors students from wealthy backgrounds, the former is a nest for dim-witted delinquents. Every at Kikyo harbors a deep hatred for their Chidori neighbors.

Our Main-character sixteen-years-old Rintarou Tsumugi is a student at Chidori whose a gentle soul behind a rough exterior that leads people to avoid him. Rintarou pays no mind to this, as he is content with his group of friends. However, there is something he has not told them yet: sometimes, he helps out at his family’s cake shop.

One day at work, Rintarou sees a customer at a table, but she runs off before he can talk to her. The next day, he receives an apology from that girl, Kaoruko Waguri, who explains that she did not run away because of his appearance and that she believes Rintarou is kind-hearted person. Although he is not used to Kaoruko’s bright personality, Rintarou looks forward to forming a friendship with her. There is just one obstacle that stands in his way: that is Kaoruko is a Kikyo Student!

– THE FRAGRANT FLOWER CHARACTER’S AND VOICE ACTORS –

“Saka Mikami” is a best Japanese manga artist and best known for creating The Fragrant Flower Bloom with Dignity, (This manga & anime series is one of my favorite romance series in my opinion) however this romantic comedy series. Her storytelling blends heartfelt emotion with social nuance, often explore the themes of empathy, identity and bridging cultural divides. As a childhood of Mikami was deeply influenced by shoujo manga like Shugo Chara! and the bittersweet narrative of Attack on Titian.

which inspired her to pursue manga professionally. Also before launching her own series, she worked as an assistant to Satoru Nii, the creator of WIND BREAKER. Her art is praised for its expressive detail especially in the eyes of her characters which is enhance the emotional depth of her stories. More of Mikami worked, she also published one shots like Koroshiya Maid to Obocchama and Song of the Jellyfish.
