🧐 Final Thoughts

Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter is a bit of mixed bag to many, but overall it’s a good, if not good, fantasy anime. The premise of the show is that a failed but skilled sorcerer named Allen is hired as a private tutor for a duke’s daughter, Tina, who is magically powerful but can’t harness her power. The main of the tale is about Allen assisting Tina in unraveling this mystery, which would be an engaging magical problem.

But some fan’s are disappointed that the show is slowed down by usual fantasy harem clichés. Although the primary romance is fairly obvious, the series also has other younger girl who develop crush on Allen and comedy mostly arises from these “loliharem” moments. A few fans of the original light novel comment that the world-building and character development improve as the series progresses, but the anime adaptation may not necessarily be able to convey that. Ultimately, if you like light fantasy with a touch of romance and are willing to put up with some typical anime clichés, you’ll likely find it to be a fun, breezy watch.
